In this webinar series, you’ll hear from two internationally renowned ECE leaders, public speakers and authors; Anne Marie Coughlin and Lorrie McGee, Education Director at London Bridge Child Care Services in London, Ontario and Pedagogical Lead and Consultant at Compass Early Learning and Care (ELC) in Peterborough, Ontario respectively.
Anne Marie and Lorrie will deepen the exploration of how pedagogical leadership can guide our actions, and reflect on ways we can show up for ourselves, our colleagues and the communities we serve by integrating pedagogical principles into our daily practices.
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the need for large-scale transformation, but change often begins with small intentional practices that we bring to our work each day. By fostering a culture of care and responsiveness, we can make the small yet impactful shifts that will ultimately transform our systems from the inside out.

Anne Marie Coughlin is the Education Director at London Bridge Child Care Services in London, Ontario, Canada. With four decades of experience in the early learning field, she has been instrumental in developing innovative professional learning initiatives that have gained attention from childcare organisations across Canada and the United States. Anne Marie is a passionate and accomplished speaker, renowned for her pioneering work with early childhood educators and her inspiring vision. Anne Marie is frequently invited to speak at conferences, colleges, community events, and professional associations throughout Canada and the US. She has contributed to multiple Early Learning Publications as well as highly regarded early learning resource books including, The Visionary Director, The Art of Awareness, and Designs for Living and Learning by Margie Carter and Deb Curtis, and The Unscripted Classroom by Susan Stacy. In 2022, she co-authored Creating a Culture of Reflective Practice: The Role of Pedagogical Leadership in Early Learning Programs. Anne Marie also contributed to the Ontario Ministry of Education’s Think, Feel, Act document, focusing on pedagogical leadership. Anne Marie has served on numerous boards of directors, including the Ontario Reggio Association, the Association of Early Childhood Educators Ontario, and the Canadian Association of Young Children. As an associate with Harvest Resources, she continues to mentor educators and advocate for equity and social justice in early learning programs.
Pedagogical Lead and Consultant, Compass Early Learning and Care, Peterborough, Ontario
Lorrie McGee has been actively working in the early learning field for 40 years and currently is the Pedagogical Lead and Consultant with Compass Early Learning and Care (ELC) in Peterborough, Ontario. Lorrie has immersed herself in the early learning field strengthening her understanding of the teaching and learning process. As a pedagogical consultant and leader in professional learning she believes in engaging educators in reflective practice and ensuring that our work in adult learning parallels that which we want to foster with children. Over the past 40 years as an early childhood educator, she has worked in several aspects of the sector, beginning as a classroom educator, director, early childhood faculty and course writer. These experiences led her to her current position as pedagogical leader and consultant with Compass ELC in Peterborough ON. As part of her role at Compass, she works with organizations across the County, in the US and internationally to support leadership development and pedagogical practice. As co-author of the research brief on Pedagogical Leadership for Ontario's "Think Feel Act" document, she aspires to be a thinking partner with others. She has also co-authored the book "Creating a Culture of Reflective Practice - The Role of Pedagogical leadership in Early Education, a top selling publication by RedLeaf Press. As a pedagogical leader and professional learning facilitator she believes in engaging educators in reflective practice and ensuring that our work in adult learning parallels that which we want to foster with children. Her practice and values are deeply rooted in a social constructivist approach to early education. She has deep respect for the work of early education and believe that her experiences bring practice to theory.
